Dr. Viera Carnogursky
(Dr. C) completed her bachelor’s degree in General Science before graduating in 1989 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery, from the University of Western Ontario. She received an award in Clinical Excellence for restorative dentistry.
To further her dental knowledge, Dr. C completed a hospital internship program and then moved to Vancouver. Here, she worked as an associate in a family practice. She began providing dental care to patients in her own busy practice in Surrey over 15 years ago.
Her treatment philosophy is to be honest and direct, to use the latest accepted current techniques and to provide as much comfort as possible in a caring and light-hearted atmosphere.
She is licensed to practice as a dentist in British Columbia by the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. Dr. C is also member of two study clubs: prosthodontics (artificial replacements for teeth) and periodontics (gum treatment). She stays current, perfecting skills with many continuing education courses, and is a member of the Canadian and BC Dental Associations.
Dr. C. is originally from Slovakia, a small country in Eastern Europe. She is sensitive to language and cultural differences, trying to say at least a few welcoming words in the language of the families coming to her office. Smiles work in any language.
In her spare time, she likes to cross-country ski in the Vancouver area, hike on the North Shore, kayak around the islands and camp in the Interior with her husband and two children. Families matter in her personal and business life.
Dr. Amir Najafi
Dr. Amir Najafi, General Dentist, earned his dental degree in 2003 from Shiraz University in Iran. Since then he is practicing all aspects of dentistry. In 2010, he completed a 4-year specialty program in Orthodontics in Shiraz University. Dr. Najafi has been committed to enhancing and expanding his expertise by participating in continuing education courses. These many years of experience have given him outstanding ability to provide high-quality dental care for his patients.
Dr. Shideh Khayat
Dr. Shideh Khayat was born and raised in Iran. Growing up with dentist parents, she soon planned to follow in their footsteps. She graduated from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences with a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2008.
She is experienced in all aspects of dentistry and enjoys focusing on restorative and cosmetic cases. She is a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Shideh maintains her commitment to excellence in dentistry and attends numerous continuing education lectures and study clubs. She strives to provide her patients with the best dental care and ensure they have a pleasant experience. She can put patients at ease and pays excellent attention to details.
Dr. Shideh is a member of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC) and the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA).
During her time away from work, Dr. Shideh enjoys yoga, swimming, hiking and watching movies with her two boys and her husband. She feels fortunate to have an opportunity to practice and live in beautiful British Columbia.
Dr. Shirley Chen
Dr. Shirley Chen was born in Taiwan and grew up in Langley. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia. She has always enjoyed working with her hands. She is delighted to be able to utilize her hand skills and caring nature to provide patient-centered dental care to help patients achieve their aesthetic and functional goals. She is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the College of British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals, and the British Columbia Dental Association.
Dr. Chen speaks fluent Mandarin and, in her spare time, loves to play badminton, rock climbing, and crochet.
