Root Canals
Root Canals in Surrey
There are many signs of a tooth infection; they include toothache, swollen gums, gum discolouration or a lingering tooth sensitivity. None of these symptoms is normal, so if you experience one or more of these effects, we recommend visiting your dentist, as you may require a root canal.
What Is a Root Canal?
A root canal is a common dental procedure that is used to treat a tooth infection. When bacteria enter the teeth through cavities or holes that develop on the hard white surface of the tooth, they infiltrate the inner dental pulp, causing a tooth infection. With root canal treatment, your dentist will remove the infected portion of the dental pulp, clean the area, and seal the hole with a dental filling.
Do I Need a Root Canal?
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above, you may be suffering from a tooth infection. It’s important to treat an infection early as it can spread to the tooth roots and affect the integrity of the tooth. Chips or cracks in your teeth may also create an opening for bacteria to enter, so we suggest that you schedule an appointment with your dentist.
